ABOUT
BaCAA #2 showcased further developments of developing ideas in contemporary art in Indonesia, and how they posit with the international. Bagus Pandega’s “Autism Spectrum,” Eddy Susanto’s “Java of Dürer,” Octora Chan’s “Laura in Paradise,” and Yusuf Ismail’s “Eat like Andy” went as winners of BaCAA #2. The varying states of both personal and communal history and identity became the shared theme between the winners. Pandega and Chan went to La Rochelle, France, to do a residency as part of BaCAA’s cooperation with Centre Intermondes. The works shortlisted in BaCAA #2 also went exhibited in a joint event held with Ciputra Artpreneur and Sotheby’s Indonesia as part of an effort to further exposure of finalists.
